A portable drafting table consists of three main parts: a top, a shelf and a base. All these are made from light wood and other light weight materials. The components are so constructed that the table can be assembled and disassembled in a matter of minutes and without much effort. No tools are required for the assembly or disassembly of the table. All the three parts are so designed that they simply fit into each other. The table has a handle that can be used for carrying it.
This allows the art and drafting students to easily set up the table wherever they want. This portable drafting table also increases the ease of transportation. In order to maximize its portability, this table has a three panel base which surrounds the shelf part of the table. The top, which has grooves along its side, can easily be separated. The grooves are so made that they fit in with the side panels of the base. This allows the table to be easily folded and because of its light weight it can easily be carried around. When it comes to disassembly of the table, one just needs to take the top off the base and then pull the shelf out. The side panels of the base are then aligned along the central base panel. The top and shelf of the table have carrying handles with a hand hole present on the base of the table. This provides grip while shifting the folded table. Now coming to the assembly of the table, try the vice versa approach. Firstly, unfold the base and straighten it out. Insert shelf part of the table between the two side panels. And then lastly, place the top on the shelf of the portable drafting table. The base of the table consists of a center panel and the left and right panels around it. The center panels is basically an elongated rectangle shaped structure and its horizontal width is less than its vertical length. The other two panels have a trapezoidal elongated structure. Each of the panels has four edges. The back edge has the same vertical length as the vertical length of the center panel. The top edge of the two side panels includes a notch. The table is provided with attachments that help in rotating the side edge onto the center panel and restoring it to form the shelf. The attachment extended for the entire vertical length of the center panel. These help in limiting the rotation of the side panels as compared to the central panel. The elongated rectangular top has rails and blocks along its side that help to fasten it to the shelf. Such a table is very convenient for people who need to carry their work board from one place to another. Also, if you need a change of ambience frequently, then the drafting table is the table for you.
